Registry and student services staff can ask how to do a task in Workday Student and see each step on their own screen. The steps follow your institution's own business processes and rules.
Book a 10-minute demoAfter the demo, we’ll set up your department free of charge. A small trial confirms it’s accurate, then a larger trial measures the drop in support queries.
We check every step works before your staff see it.
Outcomer isn’t a library of ready-made Workday Student guides. We build your guides from your own procedures, on your own Workday Student set-up, and test each one before your staff use it.
Your registry and student services staff get the answer on screen, in Workday Student and the systems around it, instead of interrupting a colleague or raising a ticket.
Training covers the main tasks, but staff forget the steps they only use at peak times such as registration or results. Outcomer answers their questions while they work in Workday Student, using your own procedures.
General answers for the standard product. Your own set-up may differ, and that’s what Outcomer follows.
Find the student, open their profile and go to Action Items and Holds. From the hold's Related Actions, go to Holds and choose Override Hold. Pick the hold type to override, set the dates and submit. The hold then shows as overridden.
Workday reapplies the hold automatically when the override end date passes. You don't need to remove and reapply it yourself.
Search for the Apply Student Hold task, enter the student and select OK. Choose the hold reason and type, select your institution and, if needed, an academic period, then submit.
Open the student's profile, go to Action Items and Holds, and select the active hold. From Related Actions, go to Holds and choose Remove Hold. Tick to confirm, add a comment if your institution requires one, and submit.
Use the Register Student(s) task. Enter the term, the course and the students, then select the sections. You can choose any overrides your role allows before you register. Afterwards, check the unsuccessful registrations section to see who wasn't registered and why. Your set-up may differ.
Search for the Drop Student from Course task. Enter the term, course and student, select OK, check the details, tick Confirm Drop and select OK.
Open the student's profile, go to History and choose Add Student Note. Pick the note topic, type the note and choose whether to share it with the student, then select OK. Keep notes to academic matters.
Only if Share With Student is set to Yes. If it is set to No, the note is visible to staff only. Students are not notified when a note is added.
Search by name or student ID, and select the Student category in the search results. If nothing appears, or a report returns no results, you probably don't have access to that task or data through your security role.
What you can see and do in Workday depends on your assigned security roles. Ask your Workday or student systems team to review your access if you need the task for your job.
If your registry and student services staff ask questions like these every week, Outcomer answers them on their own screen, using your own Workday Student set-up and procedures.
See which Workday Student tasks staff ask about most, which procedure answered each question, and whether it was finished or passed to your support desk. Your IT team can export it at any time.
Outcomer never reads, uses or keeps the data in your systems. It finds each box and button by its label, never what’s typed in it, takes no screenshots, and works from your procedures, not your records.
