Reception and admin staff can ask how to do a task in EMIS Web and see each step on their own screen. The steps follow your practice's own procedures and set-up, not a generic manual.
Book a 10-minute demoAfter the demo, we’ll set up your department free of charge. A small trial confirms it’s accurate, then a larger trial measures the drop in support queries.
We check every step works before your staff see it.
Outcomer isn’t a library of ready-made EMIS Web guides. We build your guides from your own procedures, on your own EMIS Web set-up, and test each one before your staff use it.
Your reception and admin staff get the answer on screen, in EMIS Web and the systems around it, instead of interrupting a colleague or raising a ticket.
Reception courses cover the basics. When a question comes up later, Outcomer answers it inside EMIS Web, from your practice's own procedures, while staff work.
General answers for the standard product. Your own set-up may differ, and that’s what Outcomer follows.
In the Appointment Book, right-click the free slot. Choose Book new patient, or Book current patient if the patient is already selected. Find the patient, add a reason or booking notes, check the details with the patient and click Book.
Click Find Slot on the ribbon. Choose the slot type and time of day, and pick specific clinicians or a session holder filter if needed. Use the earlier and later buttons to search further, then highlight a slot and book it.
In the Appointment Book, highlight the appointment and press C. Add a reason if your practice asks for one and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel from the patient's appointments list by right-clicking the future appointment.
Highlight the patient in the Appointment Book and press A. If you arrived the wrong patient, press C to undo it. If a patient leaves without being seen, press W for walked out.
EMIS Web can mark a patient as DNA once their appointment time has passed. If the clinician will still see them, highlight the appointment, press C to clear the DNA, then press A to arrive them. Follow your practice's late arrivals policy.
You can record it differently. Highlight the appointment and press D to record a DNA with a reason given, rather than a plain DNA. Your practice may prefer a cancellation instead, so check your own procedure.
Yes. Right-click the slot and choose Book unregistered patient, then type the patient's name. Your practice may have its own rules for temporary residents and visitors.
Right-click the slot and use Squeeze in. For example, it can split a 10-minute slot into two 5-minute slots. The session still finishes at the same time.
Right-click the slot and choose Slot history. It shows the changes made to the slot and who made them.
Keep free-text reasons short and clinical, because patients may be able to see them in online services. Put other details in the booking notes. A timed reason sets the appointment length and cannot be changed once set.
Right-click where the note should go and choose Add Comment after this slot. Type the comment and click OK. It shows as a yellow banner. Right-click it later to edit or delete it.
In the Appointment Book, A is arrived, S is send in, Q is quiet send in, W is walked out, C is cancel, D is DNA and L is left. You can also right-click an appointment to change its status.
If your reception and admin staff ask questions like these every week, Outcomer answers them on their own screen, using your own EMIS Web set-up and procedures.
See which EMIS Web tasks staff ask about most, which procedure answered each question, and whether it was finished or passed to your support desk. Your IT team can export it at any time.
Outcomer never reads, uses or keeps the data in your systems. It finds each box and button by its label, never what’s typed in it, takes no screenshots, and works from your procedures, not your records.
